Colonel Mark A. Geraldi assumes command of the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, July 21, 2017.


 As District Commander, Geraldi oversees military construction in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. He also manages an extensive civil works engineering and construction mission in Washington, Idaho and Montana.  His programs also include Historic Preservation of historic structures, and hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste cleanup.  Seattle District manages half a billion dollars worth of work annually with a workforce of about 800 employees.


Colonel Geraldi joined the district after serving as the U.S. Training and Doctrine Command Capabilities Manager – Maneuver Support (TCM-MS) for the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. 

Colonel Mark Geraldi has served in a variety of command and staff assignments including Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 8th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; Brigade Engineer and Company Commander in the 326th Engineer Battalion (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Observer Controller on the Combat Engineer (Sidewinder) Training Team at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California; Chief of Operations for Gulf Region Southern District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Iraq; Battalion Operations Officer (S-3) in the 37th Engineer Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Battalion Executive Officer in the 27th Engineer Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg; Brigade Executive Officer in the 20th Engineer Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg; and Division Engineer/CJ-7 Director for the 1st Cavalry Division/Combined Joint Task Force-1 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.  Colonel Geraldi also commanded the 8th Engineer Battalion and Task Force Trojan Horse, responsible for all route clearance, Afghan National Army engineer partnership, and vertical/horizontal construction throughout Logar, Wardak, Ghazni, Paktya, and Paktika Provinces, Afghanistan. He served as the U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) Engineer, supporting all permanent facility requirements for Special Forces world-wide. 

Colonel Geraldi was commissioned in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in May 1993 as an ROTC distinguished Military Graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York, and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri in Rolla, Missouri.  He most recently completed a Senior Service College fellowship at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is also a graduate of the 82nd Airborne Division Advanced Airborne School Jump Master Course, Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. 

Colonel Geraldi’s military awards and decorations include the Sapper and Ranger Tabs, Senior Parachutist Wings, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Wings, German Parachutist Wings, German Armed Forces Efficiency Badge (Silver), Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Service Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal with one Service Star, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.  He is also the recipient of the Army Engineer Association’s Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal.
