Chittenden Locks large chamber closing to marine traffic

The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks large chamber will close to marine traffic from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, to complete dive work related to pump plant construction.

The small chamber lock is not affected and will be operating normally.  Pedestrian traffic is not affected.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers owns and operates the Chittenden Locks. The busiest in the nation, nearly 50,000 vessels lock through each year.
