Jurisdiction

The USACE exercises regulatory authority over various types of aquatic resources, including rivers, lakes, waterways, and wetlands, throughout the United States and its territories. USACE has regulatory authority over two main categories of U.S. waters – Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act (Navigable Waters of the U.S.) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (Waters of the U.S.). For information regarding jurisdiction, please visit the Regulatory Request System.
