Contractors use a helicopter to transport large log booms to the Eagle Gorge Reservoir at Howard Hanson Dam. Once transported, workers secure them safely in place. The new booms replace older ones with shorter anchors, making the dam even safer than before, in the event of a catastrophic flood. Repairs and upgrades have been ongoing since 2009. Final dam safety repairs were complete with the installation of these log booms.
