Overview:
Providing municipal and industrious water supply is primarily the responsibility of non-federal interests. However, under the authority of the Water Supply Act of 1958, we may, at the request of local interests, include water supply storage in new projects and may modify existing projects to provide new or additional storage.
Cost-Share:
For projects focusing on agricultural uses, the cost-share during construction is 65 percent federal and 35 percent non-federal. For municipal and industrial water supply, the cost is 100 percent non-federal during construction.
