Corps completes Taholah revetment construction project in time for storm season
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, Corps of Engineers partnered with the Quinault Indian Tribe to design and construct repairs to a revetment that restored the flood protection prior to this winter's storm season. The Tribe's coastal revetment was damaged in last winter's storms. The damage to the revetment significantly increased the coastal storm flood risk to the Tribal village. The construction project replaced the ocean-side rock slope and toe. The total cost of design and repair was approximately $580,000 and was completed Nov. 7.
