Once complete, the perimeter barrier wall replacement project will expand public access on Bainbridge Island and protect critical habitat.
The district is headquartered at Federal Center South Building 1202 in the SoDo neighborhood of Seattle. Our wide range of projects span Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
Photo of Chief Joseph Dam, located in Bridgeport, Washington, the largest hydropower-producing dam operated by USACE. The single powerhouse is over a third of a mile long and holds 27 house-sized turbines. The dam alone produces enough power to supply the entire Seattle metropolitan area. Bonneville Power Administration Power markets the power the operating project produces.
Leaders from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Seattle District toured the weapons storage and maintenance facility at Malmstrom Airforce Base, Montana, Aug. 20, 2024. Sanborn returned to the project after attending the ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony in March 2024. With the project nearing 100,000 exposure hours with zero loss time, safety has been the top priority for the district and employees of the construction site. That’s a testament to our safety culture.
