    Colonel Alexander “Xander” L. Bullock assumed command of the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tuesday. He joins the district after serving in the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Tampa, Florida, as a part of the Commander’s Action Group and in the J4 (logistics) as a logistics plans officer.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is seeking public input for updating the Lake Washington Ship Canal (LWSC) Master Plan. The plan includes land management of Corps properties at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (Ballard Locks) and along the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, issued today notice of plans to prepare, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act, an environmental assessment (EA) for proposed urgent interim repairs to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (Locks) stilling basin apron, spillway ogee, and the fish ladder, located in the Lake Washington Ship Canal (LWSC) in the City of Seattle, King County, Washington. The purpose of this Public Notice is to solicit comments from interested persons, groups and agencies on the environmental impact of the proposal and issues for consideration in the EA.
