LIBBY, MT – The Souse Gulch Boat Ramp at Libby Dam will be temporarily closed from 7 a.m. Aug. 20, 2012 until Aug. 23, 2012.
The closure is necessary to remove logs and floating debris that has accumulated in the reservoir because of last month’s high water event and record rainfalls.
The boat dock will be pulled out of the water and moved out of the way to allow work equipment to remove the debris and haul it away. Large trucks will be hauling on Forest Road 228 all day during this work.
The visitor center and the remainder of Souse Gulch recreational area will remain open during the work, however, FR 228 and access to the visitor center will be heavily impacted by traffic from dumptrucks hauling loads of debris.
Expect delays, yield right of way and stay clear of the work area in the interest of safety.
Alternative ramps in the area include McGilvray and Cripple Horse or the Koocanusa Marina.
