Chittenden Locks free concerts, events begin May 29

Between May 29 and Sept. 4, visitors can enjoy the free concerts beginning at 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday while admiring the beautiful Carl S. English Botanical Gardens, the only U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-run botanical garden. Special performances are also scheduled for Labor Day, September 5 and Celebrating Hispanic Cultural Heritage September 17.

On Father’s Day, June 12, enjoy a classic car show and a pre-1950s car show Aug. 13, both beginning at 10 a.m. The Greater Seattle Fuchsia Society will hold their annual show at the Locks 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 31. Don’t forget to also visit one of the nations first fish ladders, with sockeye migration season starting mid-June, Chinook in July and coho in August. 

All concerts and events are open to the public. Limited concert seating is available on a first-come basis, but blankets or lawn chairs are welcome with plenty of space on the grounds. Following the May 29 concert, the first full weekend of concerts include the Highline Community Symphonic Band, June 4 and Cascadia Big Band June 5.
