    Army Corps reopening facilities and services in Seattle District

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reopening services and recreation facilities beginning today, due to the availability of fiscal 2014 funding. The grounds at the Chittenden Locks reopened Oct. 17. Additional details will be posted later this morning.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closes all Regulatory Offices due to federal government shutdown

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed its Regulatory offices due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory offices are unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCNs) for nationwide permit or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is curtailing some services and closing its campgrounds and day-use parks nationwide beginning today, due to the lack of fiscal 2014 funding legislation. A number of Seattle District locations and services to the public are affected until funding becomes available.

    Chittenden Locks in Ballard cancels scheduled closures Oct. 2 and Oct. 3

    CANCELLED: Because of uncertainty over a possible government shutdown, this week's (Oct. 2 and 3) scheduled locks closures have been cancelled. Navy divers were to prepare the Adult Salmon Exclusion Structure for normal winter operations. The procedure will be rescheduled at a later date.
