Corps seeks comments on proposed BPA I-5 Transmission Corridor

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking comments on a permit application from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to build a 500-kilolt (kV) lattice steel tower transmission line that would run from a new 500-kV substation near Castle Rock, Washington, to a new 500-kV substation near Troutdale, Oregon. To accommodate high public interest, the three agencies gathering public comment on the scope of an upcoming environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposed bulk-cargo shipping terminal and rail spur improvements at Cherry Point, have rescheduled a public meeting originally set for next week in Seattle.
