  • Army Corps to host Albeni Falls Dam public information meeting Aug. 29

    Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are hosting a public meeting Aug. 29 in Priest River, Idaho, to inform the public on Albeni Falls Dam operations. Topics include: current and upcoming operations, to include the fall draft; lake level coordination; weather forecasts; and a topical question-and-answer period.
  • Army Corps of Engineers repairing Lord Hill Levee

    Permanent repairs to the Lord Hill Levee on the Snohomish River upstream of the town of Snohomish, Washington, will begin on approximately August 20, 2018. The construction site will be approximately 1.5 miles upstream of the confluence with the Pilchuck River and south of the town of Snohomish.
  • Northwest Seaport Alliance, Army Corps agree to deepening study of Tacoma Harbor

    Northwest Seaport Alliance and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) signed a feasibility cost-sharing agreement August 21 to initiate a feasibility study of navigation improvements to the Blair and Sitcum waterways at the Port of Tacoma.
  • Army Corps repairing three levees near Orting, Washington

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, began repairs along three levees near Orting, Washington, at a total cost of about $1.45 million.
  • Army Corps repairing damaged Meadowhurst Levee near St. Maries, Idaho

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, began repairs on two sections of levee totaling 400 feet of damage, near the City of St. Maries, Idaho, at a cost of about $250,000.
  • Army Corps repairing damaged levee along Skagit River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, began repairs on two sections of levee totaling 1,700 feet of damage, within Diking District 1, at a cost of about $938,000.
  • Army Corps of Engineers To Repair Rock Creek Levee

    Permanent repairs to the Rock Creek Levee on the Naches River will begin on approximately July 30, 2018. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ officials will restore flood protection to the community. The levee protects public infrastructure as well as homes and businesses.
  • Chittenden Locks large chamber to close for maintenance

    SEATTLE – The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks large chamber will close to vessel traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 17, 18 and 19, for work on the emergency closure system, or ECS. The large chamber will also close the same times August 6-8 as part of the work. The small lock will continue operations during both closures.
  • Army Corps begin repair to the Shoalwater Bay Barrier Dune near Tokeland, WA

    To restore flood protection for the Shoalwater Bay Tribal community and cultural lands, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is reconstructing a sand dune in Willapa Bay near the Shoalwater Bay Indian Reservation.

    SEATTLE – The Seattle Harbor Navigation Improvement Project is eligible for congressional authorization following U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Commanding General Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite signing the Chief of Engineers Report June 7.
