    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin maintenance dredging in the Federal navigation channel at Keystone Harbor. The contractor, American Construction, will start dredging Oct. 12 and continue for approximately nine weeks.
  • Chehalis River project federal environmental review public meetings Oct. 8 and 14

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting two virtual public meetings Thursday, Oct. 8, and Wednesday, Oct. 14, on the Chehalis River Basin Flood Damage Reduction Project draft environmental impact statement (DEIS). Comments are being accepted through November 17 by email, through an online form, by U.S. Mail, voicemail, and in person during the two virtual public meetings.
  • Chittenden Locks announce garden reopening

    The Hiram M. Chittenden (Ballard) Locks will reopen the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden to visitors, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. Facilities, including the visitors center, and access across the locks’ bridges will remain closed until further notice.
  • International Kootenay Lake Board of Control holding virtual public meeting

    The International Kootenay Lake Board of Control will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. PDT October 6. The public will be presented information on the International Joint Commission, the Kootenay Board, and the operation of Corra Linn Dam by Fortis BC under the 1938 Order on Kootenay Lake. The Board will take comments from the public regarding their concerns and suggestions on the Board’s activities.

    The Hiram M. Chittenden (Ballard) Locks’ large chamber will close to all vessel traffic 5:30 a.m. October 15, for the third and final scheduled extended closure required for the Stoney Gate Valve Replacement Project. It is scheduled to remain closed until December 6.
